Freak Snow storm, Gunnison Colorado (9/7/20) A Summer to remember! Blog post 115

We had been watching the weather reports and it indicated that we might get snow. Oh boy was that an understatement! My cousin, who lives in Colorado Springs tried to forwarn us that we might want to leave a day earlier, but we did not heed her warning. At 5pm the park lost power. It was at that time we remembered that our generator is not working. It was so cold inside, but we had plenty of blankets and layers to keep us warm. We got so much snow, we had to cancel our reservation at Jellystone in Larkspur for that day and extend for 2 days.                                                                                                           Shorts in the snow

We had to leave the beautiful town of Ouray, Colorado and headed to the Blue Mesa Rv Resort in Gunnison, Colorado. This park is located across the highway from the Gunnison Lake. There is a nice Gazebo that overlooks the parks private catch and release pond and Gunnison Lake. The Wifi and cellular service is non-existent. If we wanted to make a phone call or check our emails, we needed to drive 11 miles to into the town of Gunnison. One day, we drove into Gunnison for Neil to see an optometrist. Coming out of the optometrist office we saw a couple of deer feeding on the trees at the optometry office. It was absolutely amazing to watch them.                                                                                                    ...
