Wolfs Off Leash

We arrived at Gig Harbor RV park, in Gig Harbor, Washington. The park itself it just ok. The driveways were very hard jagged rocks. Very painful to step on. It can't be comfortable for dogs. I was going outside, stepped off the last step and right onto a rock that was under our mat, and twisted my ankle.  We took a bike ride down to the harbor. There is a bike path, and then no bike path, then bike path again. We rode almost the entiretly of the harbor.  The people in Washington are not as friendly to bike riders as they are in Oregon.  The next day, we drove back to the harbor and walked a trail that would lead us past the Harbor History Museum (closed) to the Austin Estuary Park. Patch of wetlands This is the Shenandoah built in 1925. She is being restored to her original glory. The goal is to have her finished in time to celebrate her 100th birthday in 2025

Today is our travel day. We had just hitched up the truck and Neil was checking or locking the front storage compartment when he scratched the top of his poor bald head across the latch that holds the door open. I being the nurse, offered to clean it, place antibiotic ointment, and a bandaid on it. He said "real men don't need bandaids, plus the bandaid will hurt more and take more skin when it comes off".  Hard to see the injury, but it is there                                                                                        (1 day after injury)                                                         ...

1st issue: The Rv park we are at is a very very nice park. Most all of the Rv sites have room on both sides of the RV's to allow for slides, with the exception of the row we were in. We were fortunate for most of the week not to have any other RV on our right side (east side), but as it got closer to the July 4th weekend, the park started to fill up quickly. We knew our neighbor was going to be close, but not as close as when I opened up our door and saw their slide right in our door way. He could have pulled forward or backward a little more so that he was not blocking doorway as our other neighbors did a few days earlier. It was our last day, we were leaving tomorrow, but when Neil tripped trying to get out of our RV, that is when I said NOPE, this is not going to do.  I went and spoke with park Manager. I showed her the pictures, and explained that we are leaving tomorrow, but my husband tripped trying to get our of our RV. She looked at the picture, called her husband over and ...

     Decided to take a bike ride from our RV park. Went down this one road past a farm of cows, and found ourselves at one of the entrances into the Gifford Pinchot National forest. It was such an incredible ride. Did not realize how far we rode- Wow 11 miles.

     Drove to the Iron Creek trail which leads to the Cispus River just about 8 miles from the Maple Grove RV park. Really easy hiking trail. There are a few different trails to take. We took a trail that led us right past the Iron Creek campground to the Cispus River.  Found a nice place to plant our next #findmyrock. Found a couple more green slugs.
