Helper, Utah: E-biking along Price River, Scolfield State Park, & Castle Gate Mountains (April 2021) Blog Post 147

After leaving Delta, Utah, we arrived into the Castle Gate RV park in Helper, Utah. During our week stay, we took 2 bike rides, along the Price River, passing the Mining & Railroad Museum, and Castle Gate Mountains. We also drove to the Scolfield State park and Reservoir.

We took a very short walk down to the Price River, that parallels the park and which was only about 75 ft from our RV.  LOL, when I booked this park I thought we could do some relaxing kayaking. Below are some great pictures and videos of the river showing that this is not an inflatable kayak friendly river (at least this section of the river).

Almost had the whole section to ourselves

SCOLFIELD STATE PARK AND RESERVOIR IN CARBON COUNTY, UTAH
Took a nice drive to Scofield State Park. We first stopped off to play and take pictures in the a mound of snow off the side of the road. It didn't take long before we were back in the truck, because I was so cold!
We continued on until we reached the state park entrance. It was mostly day parking and boat launch, so we continued on across the dam until we came to a very cute, but small town of Clear Creek in Carbon County, Utah. The road circles the town and takes you right back out the way you came.

(Sorry, the heavy breathing was me being so cold)

BIKE RIDE with CASTLE GATE MOUNTAINS IN VIEW
Bike ride on the Price river trail, in Helper, Utah. We left the RV park and rode our bikes down the street until we came to the Western Mining and Railroad Museum, which also was where one of the entrances to the bike path was located. We rode on the path, parallel to the river almost the whole time. We found a rock maze, which I just had to do, why not. We continued our ride passing the most stunning and amazing views of Castle Gate mountains and the Balancing Rock

WESTERN MINING AND RAILROAD MUSEUM
It is a ride or walk around to view the many different machinery used

On our bike ride, we came across a ?rock maze? It is not really a maze. You start at the beginning and keep walking until you reach the end. Suprisingly, it took me over 3 minutes to complete.

If you are really bored, Neil recorded it.
