Thousand trails, Cataract surgery and recoverying at Yuma Lakes, Yuma, AZ (1/16/21 to 1/23/21) Blog post 138
After our 1st stay here at Yuma Lakes 2 weeks prior, Neil had his consultation with the Ophthalmologist to evaluate his right eye cataract. We knew he needed surgery, just did not expect it to happen so fast. Well I did, because of being an ophthalmology nurse for 31 years. Our stay at Yuma lakes was coming to an end and needed to figure out how to stay in Yuma for another month without going broke on park fees.
We decided to try the Thousand trails membership (TT). We initially purchased the basic plan and chose which section we would be traveling in the most. We then decided to purchases the trails collection plan that opened up many more parks to us. The total cost was about $1000. I booked us at our 1st TT park, called Mesa Verde. We definitely were not used to this kind of park. It is a mobile home park with RV sites in between. The site we were assigned was so narrow, that we would not have been able to put our slides out completely. I called the office, who was very kind and reassigned us into 2 sites. Fortunately the park was quite empty. We learned that due to the pandemic, many of the Canadian snowbirds are stuck in Canada. We spent 2 weeks at Mesa Verde, before returning to Yuma Lakes, 15 minutes away.
Neil underwent his cataract surgery with no complications. We took many walks, visiting the duck family that lives on the lake.
