Cool Pines Rv Park,Turkeys, Bluff Springs Falls and Incident with middle stabilizer leaving park in Mayhill, New Mexico (12/8/20 to 12/11/20) Blog post 134

I can’t believe we are in New Mexico, and can’t believe we found this RV park in Mayhill. We are staying at the Cool Pines Rv Park. The new owners as of 9/2020, Gail and Rick are so nice. Currently we are only 1 of 4 RVer’s here at the park. We are in 1 of 6-8 pull thrus, but there are so many really nice back ins that back to the forest where there are several deer and sightings of wild turkey's . This park accepts Passport America even though it is not listed on their website (only paid $52 for 3 nights). This park is truly a gem!

On our drive out of the park to Bluff Springs Falls, a flock of Turkey's flew, ran, and walked across the road in front of us. I was able to count 19 of them.

We continued on a very nice drive to Bluff Springs Falls, in the Lincoln National Forest. We came to a vista overlook which provided stunning views. We then proceeded to the falls. The river was iced over but were able to get some cool video of the water flowing under and another picture of how thick the ice was. We continued to the waterfall; it was spectacular how the ice has formed all around and especially at the base of the falls.
We then hiked up to the top of falls. We were so out of breath when we reached the top, but so worth it.

Our time at Cool pines had come to an end. When we were driving out of the park, I was making a left turn, apparently the sloped driveway was caught the left middle stabilizer and caused a horrible scraping noise that caused me to immediatley brake. Neil jumped out right away to assess the situation. We were blocking both lanes of traffic as Neil is trying to figure out how to get us over the slope without doing damage to the stabilizer. As traffic staring to pile up in both directions, Neil jumped into action. He pulled out out traction boards we had just purchased a few months prior. He got them in place, and just like 1,2,3 we were up and over within 5 minutes
