Custer State park (9/20 & 9/25/20) Blog post 121

We took a drive to Custer State Park from our stay in Hot springs on 9/20/20 . We were able to see a few bison, a fox, many prairie dogs, deer, antelope, friendly donkeys looking to be hand fed and more.

When we traveled from Hot Springs, SD to Rapid City, SD, we traded in our pretty Red 2013 Ram 3500 for a 2020 Ford F-350 Dually. We had 12 days to put 1000 miles on it to break it in before towing, so we drove back to Custer state park, with the hope we would see a lot more wildlife. Unbeknowst to us, the day before was the buffalo/bison roudup; where all the bison are rounded up and herded to the bison corrals. There they will be branded and health checks are conducted and vaccinations given. We did get to see the bison in the corrals.
