Mount St. Helens, Seaquest State park, and lunch overlooking river (6/21/20 - 6/22/20) Blog post 84

We arrived at KOA Longview, in Castle Rock, Washington for our 2 day stay. Once we were all set up, we took a drive to the Mt. St Helens information center only 8 miles from the KOA park. From the information center there is a view of the Mt St Helens, but it was very difficult to see due to all the cloud cover. There is a viewpoint up the mountain 40 miles. We started heading up, but as we got higher and higher the cloud cover made visibility of the mountain even harder. We decided to turn around and return the next day, which turned out to be the best decision. We got spectacular pictures and video of the mountain.

On our way back we stopped at the Fire Mountain Grill and had lunch overlooking the river and watching logging up on the mountain

All the trees were washed away when Mt. St. Helens erupted
