We are staying at Cascade Meadows RV park in La Pine, Oregon. This park is part of our Coast2Coast plan; we only pay $5.00/day for our 2 week stay. The park is really cute when you arrive. Once you enter your security code at the gate, then you enter into the park. The park is home to many full time residents. Our neighbors, a very nice family (Mother, son and son's child), that unfortunately fell on bad times a few years ago and is forced to live in a very run down 5th wheel for the last 2 years. The son works at the park cleaning the restrooms 5 days a week to allow them to stay at the park for free with full hook ups and 30 amps. His mother is the "camp grandma", and all the resident children love to hang out at their site and play with their new 8 week old puppies. We still had a lot of dog bones, treats, and a brand new bag of dog food that we offered to them. They were so appreciative and tried to offer money which we kindly refused and explained how we had lost all 3 of our dogs and that are hearts are not ready to get a new dog and would love to give what we have to them.
Across the street from the park is the Deschutes National forest. There are so many hiking/biking and ATV trails.
