Oak Glen Retreat and broken sewer hose cap (3/16/20) Blog post 45
We arrived at the lovely entrance to the Oak Glen Retreat. The very nice lady behind the counter registered, checked us in and gave us our site number. It was a pull through site but was not straight it was at an angle. We readjusted 3 times trying to make this site work. I finally went back to the office and explained our situation and asked if we could move to the site directly behind us. The lady said no, that in 5 days, one of their regulars would be arriving. She assigned us another site stating "I am putting you at the bottom of the hill, where you will be by yourselves".
We moved down the hill to the new site. While pulling forward, I heard a scraping noise. The concrete pad was missing a few inches of dirt, and sewer hose door was pulled off as I was pulling forward. I had to back the 5th wheel up, go around the site and back in to prevent any further damage to the underside of the rig.
I am not sure what the lady meant when she said "I am putting you down the hill by yourselves"? We were not by ourselves by any means.
This park is considered a Premier Coast to Coast Resort. This park was a DUMP, and no way shape or form should be even considered a Coast to Coast, Good Sam park, or even a Passport America park. The roads and sites need immediately repair. A majority of the RV's at the park are those that live there fulltime, which made the park look more like a run down trailer park.
Directly to the west of the RV was a private home, that had a rooster pen about 10-20 feet from our front door. The property appeared to be a junkyard to everything.
updated 6/17/22 I don't know if the park has made any renovations since we stayed, but what I can say is after almost 2.5 years being fulltime; this is the worst park we have stayed at to this date.
You can see the scrape marks from other RV's
(They repaired site next to ours, but assigned us a site that needed repair)
(no covers over sewere drains)
(I don't feel alone, like the lady said we would be!)
This the view front my front door looking at the Rooster coop. The rooster likes to crow all day long.
