Now saying Goodbye to Casey (3/8/20) Blog post 43

Yesterday we arrived at KQ Ranch in Julian, Ca. Both Autumn and Casey have been having fun exploring, so much that they don't want to come back inside the RV.  All of sudden, I noticed Casey was behind the RV in the bushes. Even with all of the coaxing from Neil and myself, she did not want to come out. We tried to coax her for about 45-1 hour. We noticed that she could no longer get up on her own. Neil had to get the stretcher to put her on, which was a huge struggle.

The closest open Vet was just over 1 hour drive to San Diego. We got her to the vet where it was decided to euthanize her.

We were so stressed driving back because we checked the dog cam and Autumn was barking every 10-15 seconds. I finally told Neil to please turn it off or I am going to start crying again and won't be able to drive. We got back and the poor thing just had to go to the bathroom. I can only imagine what went through her mind.

How could we have just lost Summer 4 1/2 weeks ago and now Casey? Our hearts are so heavy right now.
