Emerald Cove Rv resort in Earp, California! Blog post 20

We survived our first RV park. Only had to move 5th wheel once. We are heading to Earp, Ca to Emerald Cove RV park/resort. We won 3 days free from a contest I submitted our names in contest, while we were at Camping world. The only requirement is that we attend a 90 minute sales pitch to the resort.

It took us a few hours to travel from KOA Temecula to Earp California. Neil used one of our RV cameras and placed inside the Kitchen so we can watch the dogs while we are traveling. They did so good. We kept a window ever so slightly cracked for air. Each one would take a turn to stand up and look out the window.

When we arrived at Emerald cove, we were escorted to our RV site. We were guaranteed a 50amp pull thru site, but were told it is "1st come, 1st serve" to get a pull thru and 50amp. So we were given a pull thru but 30amp. The 1st impression , not so great. First the lady who checked us in had attitude when I informed her that I had spoken with the resort on 3 separate occasions and confirmed each time. Second the site we were placed was not a nice site. Our neighbors appear to live there full time. They had several cars parked in front of their RV and partly in our site and had to be asked to move it to accommodate us. We were ready or should I say myself, wanted to turn around and go find another place, but Neil was the calm level headed person in the truck and convinced me to stay.

The next day we had an appointment to meet with a sales person.  He explained how the resort works and that it is linked with Good Sam's "Coast2Coast" plan. He explained how it benefits full time rvers like ourselves.

We explained to the saleman, that our first impression is not great. We explained how the lady was not nice, and how we were told we would have a site with 50amp and our site is extremely far from everything.  We then learned that all the RV sites on the Colorado river are back in but are 50 amp and you get direct access and view of the river. The salesperson told us that he will remedy our concerns by moving us to a river site with 50 amps as soon as our meeting is over.

We decided to sign up for the Coast2Coast plan with Emerald Cove being our home resort. Since it is our home resort we extended our stay for the maximum stay of 2 weeks.
