Bridge under contruction-no way to get to Rv resort (4/19/20) Blog post 57
We left Bass Lake and headed to Isleton, California to our next destination at Delta Shores and Marina Rv park. It was by far our longest drive. We had just hit 4 hours driving and when we arrived at the highway where we were to go across the bridge, it was closed with a police car blocking entrance with sign Bridge closed, under contruction. The Gps rerouted us to another bridge, but the max height is 13'3", which is exactly the height our rig is.
I was exhausted and now very stressed. The resort could not help us, nor could they tell us when the bridge was due to reopen. Neil called several places and was told they are also on island and only 2 ways on is the only way we already knew. Luckily Neil was able to get us a reservation at SAC WEST RV (used to be a KOA). Once we were situated at Sac West, I spent hours on the phone trying to get Coast 2 Coast to assist in getting us rescheduled at another Coast resort. It took 2 days to get things situated with C2C, which caused us to extend our stay at SAC WEST at $68/day for 4 days.
C2C was able to get us a 7 day reservation at Canyon Creek Resort in Winters, California.
Not much for us to do other than get our grocery shopping and walmart out of the way.
Sac West Park has their own little petting zoo, so we decided to say hello, and a creek that had a geese family (lots of baby geese)
